Serenbe 

Liz Scruggs has enjoyed the opportunity to provide consultation the the self sustaining community of Serenbe. Serenbe is located near Atlanta Georgia and is considered a pioneer in 'Agrihood' development.  The recipient of national attention, Serenbe strives to set the standard for thoughtful living.

Liz Scruggs has supported Serenbe in several roles:

• Head of Landscape Design Review Board
• Consultant to Serenbe Home Owner Association
• Consultant to Serenbe Development
• Design and implementation of over 75 residential gardens in Serenbe
• Provision of oversight in landscape installation and long term maintenance
• Involvement in common area design 

Land stewardship as it applies to landscaping in Serenbe is a compilation of practical water, soil, and resource management. Creative roof and stormwater methods are employed to limit the movement of large quantities of water into streams and rivers. Organic insect and plant disease control is employed to the benefit of the many species of birds and other wildlife in the community. Emphasis is placed on the use of native plant material and plants that adapt to local conditions without the requirement of excessive resources.
